IMMENSIVA Residence Show 2021

We invite you to the exhibition resulting from the artistic residency of IMMENSIVA 2021!

The inauguration will be on Tuesday, June 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
It will be on display from June 23 to 30, on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The second phase of the residency, which took place from May 17 to June 20, has just ended.

During this period, live workshops on Creative Sound / 3D sound have been organized again by IRCAM (Center Pompidou) and in interactive and immersive technologies (Kimatica Studio and Solimán López). They also attended the AI4Future days, organized within the framework of the European project of the same name and which took place on June 3 and 4 with workshops and round tables on artificial intelligence and creation of worlds, in collaboration with the UPC, as well as a day dedicated to the New European Bauhaus with institutional representatives, artists and experts, ending with a workshop / think tank for activism on social issues of projects carried out in Barcelona, organized by in collaboration with PlantaUNO / Transit Projectes.

The artists have worked in teams of 2, 3 and 4 people, and at the end of the residency they have prepared an exhibition of the prototypes and the generated projects.

The projects on display are the following:

OXITOCINA MACHINA (installation + virtual reality)
Team: Sammie de Vries, Mila Moleman, Zalán Szakács, Lucia Redondo, Mathieu Preux
It is a common mistake to think that virtual reality isolates us from each other and from the world, so Studio VRij, Zalán Szakács and other Immensiva artists joined forces to prove otherwise. Oxytocin Machina is an extraordinary shared experience that blurs the lines between reality and virtual reality, exploring a virtual connection between strangers, who are actually thousands of miles apart. During the experience, people who have never met develop a deep connection and release the love hormone, oxytocin, playing, moving and sharing.

XHALE
(multimedia installation)
Team: Dilara Başköylü, Egemen Ertuğrul.
They propose a novel interface for human-computer interactions that allows respiratory actions. Our method aims to use commercially available microphones to detect inhalation and exhalation. actions using real-time sound processing and AI. We wish to map the detected expressions to different parameters in virtual and XR environments, for meditation, stress relief, relaxation and awareness. Your method can become a multi-user experience to form a strong sense of harmony.

ENTARIUM
(audiovisual installation)
Main team: Daniel Cabanzo, Anna Bacheva, Emanuele Dainotti, Mathieu Preux
Collaborating: Racelar Ho, Rich Johnson, Corinne Linder.
This work of art is directed directly by the spatio-temporal information of a physical context and its components. Like a giant mirror, the installation has its own autonomous memory and together proposes a retrospective and real-time representation of reality. ENTARIUM is inspired and created in the space in which it lives. It moves and evolves like a living organism, questioning our relationship with the environment and inventing a new hybrid territory to be observed.

NON LINEAR CASUALITY
(immersive installation + VR)
Team: Álvaro Muñozledo, Mathieu Preux, Sofia Beatrice Malatesta
“Nonlinear Causality” is an interactive immersive installation that questions the limits between the physical and the virtual. Through actions, the audience generates non-linear consequences that have a greater impact on the virtual environment and vice versa. Here, art and technology mold each other to generate an experience that resonates with personal and social responsibility, digital awareness, and the ability to act as both an active catalyst and a passive audience.

CILIA
(multimedia installation + VR).
Team: Mohsen Hazrati, Daniel Cabanzo, Sara Tirelli.
It is an interactive installation specific to the 6Dof site that immerses the user in a flow of perceptual mutation. From the Espronceda Gallery 3D Scan, CILIA developed space as a form of all the phenomena of external sense, under which only intuition is possible.

VIMANA – The Transmission
(interactive immersive installation)
Team: Emanuele Dainotti, Commonolithic, Sara Tirelli, Racelar Ho, Nicoletta Favari, Christopher Salvito, Guilerme Martins.
It is an immersive interactive 6DoF installation that opens the possibility of creating new forms of rituals that exist between the real and the virtual. The key element that defines the existence of each participant in this virtual world is a torch that they carry with them and that will be passed from hand to hand, from user to user.

ALGORYTHMIC
(XR installation)
Team: Alicia Renee Ball, Onur Topal-Sümer, Rich Johnson
ALGORYTHMIC is the initial experimental phase of an interactive immersive performance installation using XR technologies, sound, synaesthetic and kinesthetic design. The work explores patterns of collective behavior, swarms of murmurings of various organisms, situations and spatial conditions through particle simulations, manipulation and control over the user experience in an environment that simultaneously produces immersive interactivity.

SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS: Breath and Color
(immersive video acoustic installation)
Team: Dr. Bojana Ginn, Pekko Vasantola
The healing properties of meditation and slow breathing, as well as the meaning of color, have been known to mankind for thousands of years. Recently confirmed by science, specific breathing and color frequencies produce a feeling of relaxation, well-being and healing, even at the cellular level. Harnessing the science of happiness, the immersive video-acoustic installation gently guides visitors into synchronization with these healing rhythms.

THEATER OF INCONVENIENCES: Observer trajectory through claimed environments
(Virtual reality installation).
Team: Anirudhan Iyengar, Nuño de la Serna, Dominic Schwab, Helvijs Savickis, Julia Obleitner, Mathieu Preux.
The Theater of Inconvenience explores the urban landscape of Barcelona and its everyday scenes in a psychogeographic virtual reality environment. It is an immersive experience observing the complex space. of Barcelona, identifying, narrating and rewriting fragments of the urban fabric. The city is a ready-made stage for encounters, actors, actions, surprise scenes and distorted visions. Urban elements together with everyday objects merge into a new space of imaginative conflict, consumption and inconvenience. The pseudo-arrangement of 3D scan fragments of the city create dramaturgical narratives to perceive different timelines simultaneously; the city as an actor and the city as a stage.
