Teresa W (Barcelona, 1995) graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (2019), where she is currently studying the Master’s Degree in Artistic Production and Research. Located on the limits of language, she is interested in finding out how we can dialogue without words, how we can extend communication through affections, bonds, relationships. On the way between performance, sound art and graphics, traversed by word and image, gesture and sound, her pieces aim to open a space for experimentation, where she constantly tries to expand the traditional idea of communication. Her work has been a finalist for the 2021 Guasch-Coranty Foundation Scholarship for Artistic Creation and the 2021 FAD Art Awards, and has received the Linguistic Quality Award (2019) for the Final Degree Project of the University of Barcelona. She has resided in engraving spaces such as Tinta invisible, edicions or the Terrassa School of Art, and has held group exhibitions in various centers, such as the Barcelona Design Museum or the Esther Montoriol Gallery. This year she collaborates with the CCCB, the Pompidou Center and the HKW in Berlin with the European project Cultures d’Avenir. |
