About the artist:
Lorenza Cullet Cruz is a French-Colombian artist (1983), currently living and working in Belgium. She studied Fine Arts in Marseille (ESBAM) with a masters degree in Brussels, at the Royal Art Academy.
Her work narrows the questions of the place, its image, the moment of the image and the place of painting. With her Video-Art and video-installations, Lorenza investigates on the question of the mid-places, of those intermediaries like Space-frontier. She works on the transient and unreachable character of passage time, thus dissecting the notion of intermediate space. A place where you could take siege. A “mid-place” that reveals itself in front of the constant repetitions and variations.
Her work has been exhibited in Brussels, France, Colombia, Mexico, Jewish Museum of Brussels, Stephanie Jaax Gallery, Dexia Art Center Brussels and Consulate of Colombia in Brussels and she participated in the fair Just Mad of Madrid.
