Eirini (Irene) Petraki is an actress, playwright, and psychologist based in Greece and the UK. She is mainly involved in experimental theatre as a performer and researcher. For the last two years, she has been collaborating with Ilias Karellas Theatre Company (GR) to create educational children’s performances.
As a dramaturgist, she was awarded by the UNO for the Greek adaptation of Mike Kenny’s play “Rapunzel Alone.” The play “Rapunzel Alone” is under the auspices of the United Nations Organisation for the refugees for 2023-24.
She is a member of the “Chores” female choir under the artistic direction of Marina Satti, based at the Greek National Opera, studying polyphonic traditional music.
Finally, with her performing group “TRance MOiroloi,” she has created the research-based mixed media performance “Breaking the Borders,” which combines elements of ancient theatre and contemporary audiovisual media.
The performance “Breaking the Borders” was nominated for the 2nd award as best performance in the first Be-Hibe festival (GR) and was selected to be presented at the New Bauhaus festival in Brussels in April 2024.
